Where would The Dali Lama go?

His Holiness the Dali Lama, spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, understands that he reincarnates from body to body, life to life. Through practice and training, he learns how to navigate through the realms between one lifetime and the next. What I'd like to know, is if the Chinese or someone else somehow wiped out all the Tibetans, and with it all their language, writings, culture, art, and traditions - would the Dali Lama still have a place to go when he dies? Would he want to come back still?

Update: I asked an elder Native American, who regularly communicates with his ancestors, whether they would die out if all the Native American religion, art, culture, and language were wiped out. "Hell no!" was his reply.

I'll likely continue to ask this question of people that talk with their ancestors, to better understand this ontology.
