Blind spot

Where the optic nerve enters the retina there is a blind spot, or portion of our visual field that we simply can not see. Our brain makes up for this blind spot by filling in what it expects to be there, so we never notice it. And we have two eyes, so each one helps fill in the gap for the other. We don't even know we're blind there.

It seems most of us have "spiritual blind spots" as I call them, or parts of our personal development that we are apparently "blind" to, in that we seem to be powerless to focus our attention on these areas for self improvement. We can't focus on these areas because there are blind spots in our on mind's eye blocking areas from view, just like in our real eyes.

Here is where I I think we can benefit from the love of those around us, being our spiritual eyes to see what we can not.

I wonder if these spiritual blind spots are inherent, or whether through sufficient practice these blind spots can be minimized or even eliminated.
